What Goes Better With Fresh Then Farm? When I went to the rummage sale and found two signs, one of them had the word fresh and it has little hanging shaker pegs. Today’s project will show you what I did with that one. I will post about the other one soon.
I couldn’t believe someone donated this little sign with the pegs. This look is so in right now. I had no doubts about what I was going to do. After all what goes better with fresh then farm?
I dragged out some boards from my stash and arranged them on the driveway to get an idea of how many I would need to make the wood base for the sign.
I gathered up five nice boards and measured them at 21 ½ inches. Out comes the miter saw and away I go. Then I ended up using left over wood floor planks for the back side. I nailed them to the five boards so that they spanned each board.
When I finished that, I used my old standby DIY chalk paint recipe in creamy white and brushed it on.
I selected a 4 inch stencil in a font that went with Fresh. After determining where I wanted it, I used my chalk line to give me a guide to place the stencils on. I always draw it on and paint but you can stencil it also.
Of course the Farm looked way to new so I got out the sander and sanded it off. Then I felt like the bottom of the letters were too worn and repainted them. And sanded. And guess what the paint came right off again like before. I left it since the look was supposed to be from an old farmhouse. The boards were waxed with clear wax.
I use E6000 glue to attach fresh on the boards and clamped it. To hang it I screwed in the eyelet hook in the back and used picture hanging wire.
Now is that not a good way to put together Fresh with Farm?
