Thank You for the beautiful candlesticks, Balsam Hill.  Now why am I thanking Balsam Hill for beautiful candlesticks?  Well I was one of the 25 winners in the Balsam Hill’s Countdown to Christmas Giveaway.  I was reading the blog, Rusty Hinge Blog Spot and on that particular day the post was about Christmas and the giveway.  I had to hop on over to the Balsam Hill site and comment on what Christmas means to me.

Close Up of Beautiful Candlesticks

This is what I wrote; Christmas is a time for reflection, gathering with friends and family. It is a giving season which we should carry in our hearts all year.

And then I didn’t give it another thought and carried on.  When I got home on Christmas Eve I checked my emails and saw one from Balsam Hill informing me I was one of the winners but I had to reply.  I thought to myself this must be a scam as I never ever, very rarely win anything much less something from a big company.

I replied how surprised I was.  I got another email with a link and $100.00 t0 spend.  I felt like a kid in a candy store.  They have so many wonderful items.

I checked out the Christmas decorations.  I believe Balsam Hill is known for their absolutely beautiful, realistic Christmas trees and ornaments.  And as beautiful as the ornaments are I decided to get something I could enjoy all year.

I checked out the other decorating items and finally decided on the zinc candlesticks.  When I got home from work the other day, the two boxes were waiting for me.  I couldn’t wait to unpack them and play with them.  I don’t know why but I thought they were smaller than they are.  I placed them by the fireplace.  Then they moved to the dining room.   Of course, I had to see what they would look like in the dinning room.  Next stop was the master bathroom.

I received another candlestick that ended up being a nice compliment to these and painted it to match.  You can read about it here.  And did you notice the painting with the painted fabric matte found a home?  So if you want a quality, stylish accent for your home check out Balsam Hill.  And if you need a Christmas Tree they are the go to place.

    Debra –

I would like to mentioned that this picture is but one small piece of the beautiful way that you have decorated your house and turned it into a warm and stunningly gorgeous place that you find in those “House Beautiful” books and magazines. I don’t know where you get your gift as to what looks good but it is a gift from God! Please Debra, more pictures on your house and garden for all your fans.

Wow, that is high praise indeed. Thank you very much as I can certainly point out things I would like to change. I have a few more planned. Stay tuned as they say.

Debra you are one lucky lady! They are absolutely beautiful and big too! The scrollwork is gorgeous! And I agree with Michael above we absolutely want to see a bit of your house to see where you have placed all these lovely projects that you are always painting.

I know, I couldn’t believe it. I am sitting on my couch looking at the candlesticks right now. I do have a post coming up and you will get to see a bedroom. I guess I am getting braver in showing my house. Thanks for all of your support.

Welcome Friends!

Hi I’m Debra and I think I’ve finally figured out what I want to do when I grow up! This is quite an accomplishment since I’m not a teenager! From the time I was a little girl, I drew, painted, sewed and built furniture for my precious dolls, and I had great plans to be a commercial artist. I could get totally lost in the magic of creating. I followed my dream and when I was a teenager, I moved to the west coast of Florida and attended Ringling School of Art…but then…as often happens, life had different plans for me. Can you relate to life having other plans or getting in the way?
