Red-hearts-in-centerpiece-for-Valentine

The other day as I walked by the dining room the thought came to mind how easy it is to go from a winter look to a Valentine’s look.  Off to Dollar Tree for a frugal way to update for Valentine’s Day. I bought a package of seven hearts on sticks.  My big decision was […]

A simple update with paint

Have you ever noticed how a simple update can make a difference?  It never fails to amaze me when I paint something how it can change whatever it is I painted.  For instance, take this watering can. Now I haven’t been thrift store shopping in a while.  I have mentioned my friend, Karen a lot […]

Update A Mirror To A Light And Bright Look

July 16, 2018

Mirror light and bright

Recently I closed my booth which is freeing up my time, sort of to do other things.  One of the things I really needed to do is to paint the guest room and den.  The den finally got painted.  Now the big task is updating the accessories and some of the furniture.  An easy fix […]

An Upholstered Chair Can Be Updated With Paint

March 30, 2018

Green chair painted cream with bird pillow

Not so long ago I painted an upholstered bench.  Before that, I received this chair and thought an upholstered chair can be updated with paint.  Then I got busy and put it on the back burner so to speak.  Well, I finally decided I needed a chair in my guest room and this would work […]

Jewelry box that is updated with paint

You see jewelry boxes all of the time, at thrift stores and garage sales.  My neighbor gave me this one when it didn’t sell at her garage sale.  I decided how to update a jewelry box with paint would be a good project for this month’s Thrift Store Decor Upcycle Challenge. The Rules: Upcycle an […]

How Changing A Paint Color Can Be Amazing

Isn’t the power of paint wonderful?  I am always surprised how changing a paint color can be amazing.  Take this table for instance.  Maybe you don’t want too, the way the before was.  I bought it at a garage sale about 4 years ago.  It got buried under stuff but I decided to unearth […]

Welcome Friends!

Hi I’m Debra and I think I’ve finally figured out what I want to do when I grow up! This is quite an accomplishment since I’m not a teenager! From the time I was a little girl, I drew, painted, sewed and built furniture for my precious dolls, and I had great plans to be a commercial artist.
