How To Paint A Basket For A Farmhouse Look

June 11, 2018

Tiered basket with magnolias

Now I have been trying to clean out my garage so I haven’t been shopping.  But every so often a girl has to shop, right?  My Pickin’ Sister, Sue and I decided to pay a final visit to one of our favorite salvage shops.  The owner retired and couldn’t find a buyer (insert a very […]

An Easy Update With Paint To Restore A Clock

I am not sure if this qualifies as a craft project but the clock is from my stash.  It is Craft Room De-Stash Day.  My blogger friends and I do a craft project from our craft stash.  We can spend up to $10 to complete the project.  I decided to do an easy update with […]

Use An Old Piece Of Fence For A Christmas Painting

Disclosure: I was compensated by Poppies Paint Powder  with product.  However, all the opinions stated here are my own. I only use products I love and would recommend to my readers.  A while back I picked up some old fencing from my neighbor’s trash pile.  I created a beach sign from the gate but still […]

Are You Afraid To Tackle Furniture Repair?

Are You Afraid To Tackle Furniture Repair?

My friends, Bob and Kathye look for projects for me.  And they found a doozy.  A rocker with a broken arm.  I’ll paraphrase what Bob said, Are you afraid to tackle furniture repair?   He told me what to do, drill a pilot hole and screw it together.  No one was around when I started […]

A Paper Towel Holder In A Split Second

Have you ever looked at something but saw it as something else?  I do that a lot.  My brain just looks at objects differently.  I thought of a paper towel holder in a split second. So while at work, I have a part time job in a construction office, I was sitting at my desk […]

This Old Tired Vintage Table Became Bright And Happy

This old tired vintage table became bright and happy with the help of Poppies Furniture Paint Powder.  This product is an additive to latex paint much like the DIY chalk paint recipe that uses Plaster of Paris.  But there are differences.  Good ones. I met Nancy, the owner at the Springtime Fancy Flea Market […]

Welcome Friends!

Hi I’m Debra and I think I’ve finally figured out what I want to do when I grow up! This is quite an accomplishment since I’m not a teenager! From the time I was a little girl, I drew, painted, sewed and built furniture for my precious dolls, and I had great plans to be a commercial artist. I could get totally lost in the magic of creating. I followed my dream and when I was a teenager, I moved to the west coast of Florida and attended Ringling School of Art…but then…as often happens, life had different plans for me. Can you relate to life having other plans or getting in the way?
