Pickin Day At A Rummage Sale. The other day was a pickin day at a rummage sale. My friend, Michael lives in a condo and the association has rummage sales every so often to raise money for their activities.
He said come over for the preview. I arrived early with lunch. Then we hit the sale. Now rummage sales or tag sales as they are called in some areas are much different than some of the other places I have been to. The items aren’t so rough looking. They actually are very gently used and priced to sell.
I zoned in on the bunny rabbit collection, as cute as they all were I didn’t cave. I really didn’t have anything specific to buy but I would know it when I saw it.
Such as this little white, wicker mirror in excellent shape. There is just one little nick and is missing some paint that I will touch up.
Cruising by dinnerware, it was tempting but I just knew there was something else that I wouldn’t find elsewhere. I turned down the next bank of tables.
Then I spied the tin measuring cup. It is dented and worn. Oh the stories it can share, heck the recipes right? I snatched it up.
Next I saw some small boxes. One resembles a treasure chest but is in good shape. Unlike the one I wrote about not too long ago. I just need to glue the fabric on the inside. Off to Shoppe No. 5 it will go.
I also saw a slightly larger square box. I call it the monkey box since it has monkeys all over it. I certainly have nothing against monkeys but I think this box will be getting a makeover. Let me rephrase that, I know the monkey box will be getting a makeover.
Finally, the aha moment when I saw this red sign with pegs to hang stuff from. The sign is “fresh”. I think I have a cool idea to make it a little different.
I also saw a $5.00 charge for whining sign. It is plain but I can jazz it up. I didn’t buy any large furniture pieces but I am really pleased with my pickin day at a rummage sale.
