This is a very quick and easy project and it creates a wow factor on the dining room table. How to update napkin rings with bling can be done in no time.
I had some old metal napkins rings that had been stuffed in the drawer for ages. They were old and had no style. It was an update or head to the trash.
My vision for the napkin rings was to glue beads on both sides to bling them up. Believe it or not, I had to go trim shopping. Off to Hobby Lobby, I went. I didn’t really know what I was looking for but would know it when I see it. Do you ever do that?
It was my lucky day because the trim I like was on sale. And, of course, I used the 40% off coupon. I forgot to measure the napkin rings so I got 2 yards of trim. Not to worry, I will use the extra trim on another project somewhere and sometime.
The first thing on the agenda is to clean them up. I just washed and dried the napkin rings like dishes. After the napkin rings dried they got spray painted with the same silver spray paint used in the glitter vases.
It is so crazy how paint and a pretty trim can change the look. I started gluing the trim to the napkin ring. It can be a little tricky. Run a little bead of glue on the inside of the napkin ring. Put the trim on the inside and press on the glue. Don’t do the whole thing. Work in sections. Then do the same thing on the other side.
I only needed four napkin rings so of course, I had to repeat the process until they were finished.
The napkin rings look perfect with the white and silver napkins and white placemats. They are the perfect addition for the winter tablescape. The best part is how to update napkin rings with bling was an easy project. Aren’t those the best kind?
