After all of the pretty Christmas decorations and lights are put away I always think the house is so bland. It is like I need to add a little bit of something to perk it up. How fortunate that the topic for our Bring on the Crafts is glitter! If you feel like I do add a little sparkle to your life with glitter vases.
Bring on the Crafts is a group of us that well like to create crafts. We meet monthly with a different theme each month. Everyone’s project is at the end of the post.
Now you know if you have been reading this blog any length of time I love to upcycle glass jars. Some of the jar projects are a Santa suit jar and an autumn vase from a jar.
I pulled out 3 jars from my stash in various sizes. If you use ordinary jars the tops should be disguised with rope. Decide on which ones, I used the large jar and the slim looking jar. Start at the bottom f the ribbed top, use the hot glue gun. Run a line of glue and start gluing the rope. Do this on two jars.
Using silver glitter spray paint transform the two jars with the rope top. For the remaining jar, spray it with silver metallic spray paint.
After the jars are thoroughly dry we get to decorate them with glitter. Use Mod Podge on the top of the silver metallic jar. Paint it on in sections and making the bottom uneven. Sprinkle the silver glitter over the Mod Podge. Doesn’t it remind you of icicles?
Now for the jars with the rope top brush Mod Podge on top of the rope. And sprinkle on the glitter!
Isn’t it so easy to add a little sparkle to your life with glitter vases? I put them on the dining room table with some greenery and white flowers. The dinnerware is the same as I use for the Christmas table but the placemats and napkins are white and silver. I have another project with bling for the table setting but that is for another day. And the vases look so nice with the upcycled napkin rings.
Be sure to take a look at my friend’s glitter projects.
Bring on the Crafts – A Craft & DIY Blog Hop On the first Friday of each month, a group of DIY and crafty bloggers join forces. Together with their hosts Marie & Aleisha from The Inspiration Vault and Habiba from Craftify My Love they bring you the #BringontheCrafts blog hop. Each blogger creates a fun craft or DIY project to share that goes with a monthly theme.
This month’s theme is GLITTER! Each blogger chooses their own craft to make as long as they love it and it’s glittered themed.
Join in on the fun! If you’d like to participate next month, you can request to join our Bring on the Crafts Facebook group.
Not a blogger? But a creative mind none the less! Don’t worry. Share your awesome creations in our Craft Cult Facebook group. This is also a great place to ask craft & DIY related questions and find inspiration for your next project.
