I wasn’t planning on changing out the vignette on the kitchen table. But it turned into a quick change to get ready for fall. I am not quite ready to pull out the plaid napkins and the autumn leaves. It is still so hot and we have gotten so much rain where I live so then it is very humid.
In July it was the Patriotic Table setting. August the table got a coastal look. Today the table is more organic and has texture. It is a nice change of pace. I used what I had. In other words, I shopped the house. You can’t get much easier than that.
Start by clearing off the table for a clean slate. Use a basic tray as the starting point. I am partial to the round tray I made. Put a tiered tray back on the round tray for height.
Another stable I like using is the little jelly bowl I use as a planter for succulents. It is good to include a plant in most vignettes. It gives life to the arrangement.
This is the point when I started shopping the house. The bottom cake pan of the tiered tray got loaded with smooth rocks. You can buy a small bagful at the Dollar Tree. I added back the air plants, I just placed them on top of the rocks.
The top cake pan ended up with a wooden bottom. And talk about easy. It is the bottom of a cheese glass dome. Take the wooden base and flip it over so the groove doesn’t show. I got out 3 small vintage bottles out and placed them on the wooden base.
Off to the side is a steak sauce bottle. I cleaned it up in anticipation of using it in a project of some sort. Never thinking I would use the bottle in a vignette naked. I went out in the yard and gathered up some twigs to stick in it.
Finally, I pulled out an old Jack Daniels jug I have had forever. There is a base with the tray, height with the tiered tray. An organic feel with the rocks, wood base, and plants. The bottles add a little shine. This vignette will be different in a few weeks but for now, a quick change to get ready for fall is all that is needed. How do you transition from summer to fall?
