I don’t know about you but as an adult I love my coffee but milk, I don’t drink much of it. A coffee drink to make anyone a milk lover, this is the recipe for you. I discovered it years ago in a Southern Living magazine. I must get the majority of my favorite recipes from Southern Living Cook Books.
And what is nice about this recipe is most of us have the ingredients on hand. I always like recipes where I have most of the ingredients if not all.
Now the recipe below is the one from the magazine or the cookbook which I have. I do tweak it from time to time. I happen to love caramel so sometimes I substitute the chocolate syrup for the caramel syrup. And sometimes I like to add some Kahlua and make an adult drink. That really tastes good. The other day I discovered Salted Caramel Kahlua, oh my it is so good in this recipe.
You have to plan ahead so the coffee cubes are ready. I enjoy flavored coffees, my favorite brand is Joffrey’s. I generally order the different flavors from their website or go to a local coffee shop for a bag. It is so worth it. So if I plan on making this, I make a little extra coffee and make the coffee cubes. And I try to make the flavor that will match or go with my syrup I am using.
I also make a half recipe. It is so refreshing and is truly a coffee drink to make anyone a milk lover. And did I mention the recipe calls for reduced fat milk? So you can enjoy this delicious drink with minimal guilt. I hope you give it a try and let me know what you think.

Now maybe I can convince my kid to spend less time at Starbucks. Thanks for the recipe
Thanks Lisa. Make up the coffee cubes so she can give it a try. I bet you will like it also.
Ok so now I have actually made it (three times) and now we are saving our unused coffee and making the cubes when I get ready for bed. This is amazing. Allie loves it, Jimmy loves it and I love it AND it is easy, with things I will always have at the house. A tip of the hat to Deb P.
Lisa, I am so glad all of you like it. It is good any time of day.
Thisi s a really refreshing and yummy recipe, Debra. We drink a lot of these types of coffee here in hot Greece, as I’m sure you must also in hot Florida. Nothing like a little caffeine to keep us going.
Oh that is the truth, I can’t function with having coffee every day. 🙂
Oh, this with salted caramel Kahlua sounds wonderful! Definitely going to try!
Pat, it is good. It is delicious. And it is good without the Kahlua also.
sounds delish!! will need to try
It really is. And so refreshing. Enjoy.
I love drinks like these although I don’t enjoy them much because of the high calorie count. I will have to limit the chocolate syrup! Thanks for sharing the recipe.
I understand. That is one reason why I like this recipe since it uses the 2% reduced fat milk. It isn’t something I have often either but I certainly enjoy it when I do. It is so refreshing.
Without a doubt, I could drink this every single day!!

Thank you, Stacey. I could definitely drink it every day. I hope you will give it a try.
