It seems like we start thinking about Halloween earlier and earlier. The decorations are so creative and so much fun. But who wants to invest a lot of money in decorating for Halloween? Stick with me for a celebration of simple Halloween crafts.
The most recent project I did for Halloween was the one where I dressed up the shades on the chandelier in that is in my kitchen. I spent about $4.00 for supplies at the dollar store. Now Halloween pickings are getting slim because people are on to Christmas but you can probably still get the basic supplies.
Before that post, I created a Jack O Lantern from a plant caddy. It was another easy project. You just need a plant caddy without the wheels and paint and you are good to go.
Now if you are into skeletons than this project is for you. It is a skeleton made from a clay pot and saucer. They can be easily found in the garden section of your local store. All you do is spray paint or just use white paint and paint the pot and saucer. Once dry paint on the skeleton face. If large enough it makes a cute candy dish.
Another cute and easy Halloween craft is making signs from scrap wood. These are little signs with a Halloween sentiment such as “Boo”. If you have Halloween stencil you can add a pumpkin or a scary black cat. I used my letter stencils to paint in the words. They make cute little thinking of you gifts.
Another fun Halloween craft, which by the way is my personal favorite are the rustic pumpkins made from landscape edging. They can be made with a Jack O Lantern face on one side. Leave the other side plain. After Halloween you can turn it to the plain side and create a fall vignette.
So you have all of the Halloween crafts but where do you display them? I happened to have a small shelf that I painted in orange and brown. It does make for a fun way to display the Halloween decorations. And after Halloween? It may get a makeover, after all, it is only paint.
All of the crafts are pretty easy. You may have some or all of the supplies. And there is still time to get in the spirit and celebrate Halloween by doing these simple crafts. Which one will you try?
